    Books, wasted. :’(

    • My uni newspaper reported that the University of Sydney dumped 500,000 books last week (that’s equivalent to 19 km worth of shelf space).
    • The University of New South Wales had thrown away thousands of books early this year. Apparently their policy states that they can throw away about 50,000 books a year.
    • In 1995, University of Western Sydney buried 10,000 books in landfill.
    • Borders is going through liquidation and selling off their books at very cheap price. All the Borders bookshop in Aussie will be closed down in the next few weeks. Thus I’ve decided to save a couple of books tomorrow (by buying them off the shelves of course). God knows what will happen to them.
    • I can’t stand watching good books getting thrown away just like that.
